Mozart was an absolute prodigy and an influential factor in classical music. He created music for everyone like symphonies, opera, concertos or piano music. He first composed his song at the age of five. His performance before the Royal members was flawless and enchanting. His works deeply influenced the next generation of European art music. Even Ludwig Beethoven created his first few pieces of music in the shadow of Mozart.

Mozart created more than 600 compositions and many of them are highly acknowledged. Here we’ll see some of his best creations which made him one of the best composers of classical music. Below are the best of Mozart as evaluated by our editors.

1. Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525

According to many artists, The Eine Kleine Nachtmusik k.525 is the best work of Mozart. It was created in 1787. The title means ‘a little serenade’. This masterpiece is composed for viola, cello, and two violins with an optional double bass. But it is also performed by string orchestras. The serenade of Mozart is the most performed work all around the world. This beautiful piece includes 4 movements:

  1. Allegro
  2. Romanze: Andante
  3. Menuetto: Allegretto
  4. Rondo: Allegro

It is presumed that there is one extra possible movement which is long lost and there is no evidence that who removed it.

 

2. Symphony No 35 in D major, K. 385 (Haffner Symphony)

This beautiful symphony has its power to soothe you for the next 20 minutes. So powerful yet smooth, this Mozart creation was commissioned by the Haffners, which is why it is called the Haffner Symphony. The symphony is performed in the key of D major. Mozart composed this music for a verity of instruments which include 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in A, 2 bassoons, 2 horns in D and G, 2 trumpets in D, timpani, and strings. This composition is good enough to boost you up and energized you for the rest of the day. The standard performance is 20 minutes in length.  It also has 4 movements:

  1. Allegro con spirito
  2. Andante
  3. Menuetto
  4. Presto

 

3. Symphony No 40 in G minor, KV. 550

The Symphony No 40 which is also referred as ‘The Great G Minor Symphony’ is one of the only two minor key symphonies Mozart created. This is also a very powerful symphony. The darkly starting, romanticism and Anger with the flow of music, I must say, will help you roam your emotions. Arranged in classical style symphony, this composition has 4 movements as well.

  1. Molto allegro
  2. Andante
  3. Allegretto – Trio
  4. Finale. Allegro assai

4. The Marriage of Figaro

The Marriage of Figaro is a comic opera which is composed of four acts. It reckons a successful story of a marriage. In this creation of Mozart, we find him very robust and impudent with the advent of four acts.

This funny opera is scored for a verity of instruments including two oboes, two bassoons, two trumpets, two flutes, two horns, strings, and timpani. The dialogues are associated with a keyboard instrument.  The four acts visualized by different vivid scenario express the imagination power of Master Mozart. Funny words from this jovial opera show the sense of humor of Mozart.

 

5. Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, K. 467

This beautiful creation of Mozart is widely used in many films. Mozart completed this on 9 March 1785. It starting quietly and then turns into a melody that scatters fanfare in the air. This composition, for sure will make your mind peaceful and soothe. I must say it will create serenity in your mind and help you focus. This fantastic creation is also known as the Elvira Madigan concerto because of its use in Swedish film name Elvira Madigan. This beautiful composition is composed of 3 movements.

  1. Allegro maestoso
  2. Andante in F major
  3. Allegro vivace assai

 

6. Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat major, K. 495

Master Mozart wrote this fine composition for his friend Joseph Leutgeb. And the reason this is famous because it is one of the two horn concerti Mozart wrote. Special kinds of horns which are included with the orchestra were used here. And that makes this masterpiece one unique creation. The soothing horn sound along with strings will put you in good mood and create drama in your mind no doubt!

This piece of Mozart has 3 movements:

  1. Allegro moderato
  2. Romance
  3. Rondo

 

7. Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K. 331

This beautiful piano sonata by Mozart was published in 1784. It plays solely on piano. The music is so good that your thoughts will create its own nirvana you’ll lose yourself there. It will make your mind dancing and frolicking. The sonata is composed of three movements:

  1. Andante grazioso
  2. Menuetto
  3. Alla Turca – Allegretto

This entire sonata performance takes typically 20 minutes.

 

8. Oboe Concerto in C major

The classical master Mozart wrote this for the oboist Giuseppe Ferlendis in the summer of 1777.This is his only oboe concerto, isn’t it surprising? This is one of the best of Mozart’s. Maybe that is why he reworked it for flute in D major. The melodious sound forms the oboe along with other instrument suits so well that it gives immense pleasure to our mind. Its fast movement creates a whole new dimension in our thought.

This masterpiece is divided into 3 movements. They are:

  1. Allegro Aperto
  2. Adagio ma non-troppo
  3. Rondo: Allegretto

 

Mozart was progressive and versatile. He put his hand in every genre in classical music. He made music more sophisticated and gave more emotion to it. He made the piano concerti popular among people. With a very short lifespan, he created a large number and music and pave the way for his successors. This is why he is a master of music.
